Earlier this year in Chemistry all the Lower Fifth entered the ‘Curious About Copper Poster Competition’.
They were asked to design a poster exploring the properties of copper in one of three categories ‘Buildings and Design’, ‘Electronics and Communication’ and ‘Health and Medicine’.
Congratulations to Maria in L5E who was runner-up in the Key Stage 4 Building and Design category. The judges commented ‘Beginning with a very good design idea, Maria’s poster contains relevant information presented in a logical way that helps the reader understand why copper is important in buildings. The Statue of Liberty image helps to add interest.’
Maria won £50 for herself and £250 for the school.
